I am a writer living in Los Angeles. I am a contributor to Shondaland.com and a cohost on Crooked Media's new pop culture podcast, "Keep It". Previously, I wrote for Freeform's grown-ish and for Jezebel as a senior writer where I covered pop culture, race, television and a number of other topics I still can't actually believe they let me write about.
I have also contributed to Glamour, Vanity Fair, Billboard and The Cut. In 2014, I was paid actual American dollars to deliver a lecture about Beyoncé at Northwestern University. I was featured as one of Forbes Magazine's 30 Under 30 in Hollywood and Entertainment, class of 2018.
Ta-Nehisi Coates name checked me in an article and I will probably never stop talking about it.
And, just to reiterate, I really, really love Shake Shack.
I am represented by Dani Potter and Jonny Gutman at WME and Maggie Haskins and Brian Dobbins at Principato-Young.
You can email me about opportunities, things relevant to my interests, invitations, or perhaps if you'd like to send me some Shake Shake, at Kara@Kara-Brown.com. If you're interested in having me speak at your live event or panel, you can inquire here.
