I am a writer living in Los Angeles and a cohost on Crooked Media's pop culture podcast, "Keep It". Television credits include In the Dark (airing on the CW in spring 2019) and Freeform's grown-ish. Previously I was a senior writer at Jezebel where I covered pop culture, race, television and a number of other topics I still can't actually believe they let me write about.
I have also contributed to Glamour, Time Magazine, Nylon, Billboard and The Fader. In 2014, I was paid actual American dollars to deliver a lecture about Beyoncé at Northwestern University. I was featured as one of Forbes Magazine's 30 Under 30 in Hollywood and Entertainment, class of 2018.
Ta-Nehisi Coates name checked me in an article and I will probably never stop talking about it.
And, just to reiterate, I really, really love Shake Shack.
I am represented by Dani Potter and Jonny Gutman at WME and Maggie Haskins and Brian Dobbins at Artists First.
You can email me about opportunities, things relevant to my interests, invitations, or perhaps if you'd like to send me some Shake Shack, at Kara@Kara-Brown.com. If you're interested in having me speak at your live event or panel, you can inquire here.
